We all like to keep abreast of new trends – and a lot is happening in permanent and semi-permanent makeup at the moment. In fact, it is improving all the time, with new and more refined procedures, and our clients say they are only sorry they didn’t try it sooner.

Permanent makeup should be comfortable, suitable for everyday use and as natural as possible. And it certainly saves a lot of time.

On the Sunshine Coast, Clynic finds that eyebrow procedure is still the most popular, followed by lip tattoos, but microblading may be on its way out, despite its super-thin strokes, especially for anyone with oily skin and large pores. It’s powder brushing now, which is easier to learn, refine and perfect. Powder brows look more natural and last longer too.

Fake looks are out of date

And then there is nanoblading, which is more sophisticated than microblading, because the hairs are finer. And brow lamination, if you already have a lot of brow hair. It brushes and lifts your brows up.

But microblading is still the most popular procedure by far

Permanent Makeup Sunshine Coast – Lips, Eyebrows, Eyeliner & Lashes

Permanent eyeliner, usually applied in two colours, is more gentle than it used to be – and is a perfect, long-term, smudge-free solution, and therefore very sought after.

And lash lifts, or perms, have become more popular now than lash extensions, because they look more natural

Thanks to Instagram, freckles are in, and many people who hated their freckles when they were children think it would really be fun to have them back again now.

Semi-permanent lip tattoos or lip blush are ideal for plumper lips, for those who like colour, and for covering up imperfections and pigment while maintaining a natural look.

Scar camouflage, or micro pigmentation, which can be used over acne too, applies flesh tone pigments in the skin to correct and make scars invisible, and lasts for years if you keep out of direct sunlight.

At Clynic, we know that every face has its own interesting and unique features, which make up its individual style. And our passion is to enhance what already exists, and to enrich our clients’ appearance, finding solutions and enhancing natural beauty and physical confidence. If you are on the Sunshine Coast, call Clynic today for the most professional advice and information – and make an appointment so that you too can look your very best after cosmetic tattoo artistry.

What is an Oxygenation Facial and Why You May Need One? https://staging.clynic.com.au/oxygenation-facial-treatment-sunshine-coast/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/oxygenation-facial-treatment-sunshine-coast/#respond Wed, 17 Nov 2021 09:51:25 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2932 Facial Treatment Sunshine Coast

Intraceutical Oxygenation Facials are certainly revolutionary, and they are bliss too! If you really want to just relax, unwind and be pampered and cossetted – and if you are into instant gratification – then just come over here and try one. It’s sheer heaven and you’ll love it!

What exactly is it though?

Hyperbaric oxygen, a well-established treatment for decompression sickness, involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurised environment, and it is used to deliver intraceutical serums to the skin. When the oxygen and serums are administered together, that nourishes, hydrates and plumps the skin, and takes away lines and wrinkles. It’s seriously invigorating and revitalizing.

Does your skin actually need hydrating?

Just try our Rejuvenate oxygenation facial. It suits all skin types, and its special antioxidants and vitamins tone the skin too.

And how about for lighter, brighter, more luminous skin?

Then try our Opulence serum, with Vitamin C and botanicals. It even works on dull, uneven skin.

And then there’s our Clarity oxygenation facial!

That calms, cools and hydrates the skin, and its vitamins protect against impurities as well.

We can give you Vitamin A, Vitamin C+3, antioxidant and collagen booster treatments too

If you are on the Sunshine Coast, and you want to look younger and better and happier, then call Lyn O’Connor at Clynic in Landsborough and make an appointment. When you leave, you’ll be radiant, and your skin will feel smooth, nourished and hydrated.

Remember, this treatment is non-invasive, painless and safe

Hyperbaric Oxygen Technology delivers therapeutic grade oxygen, and their three step hyaluronic layering forms the basis of comprehensive Intraceuticals treatments, which provide speedy, visible results, scientifically designed to revive, replenish and protect your skin.

Tattoo Removal: How To, Costs, Expectations https://staging.clynic.com.au/tattoo-removal-how-to-costs-expectations-guide/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/tattoo-removal-how-to-costs-expectations-guide/#respond Mon, 01 Nov 2021 10:22:37 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2935 Things No One Tells You About Tattoo Removal

It would be so nice to know more about tattoo removal before actually having the tattoo in the first place. More about the results, the pain, the side effects and, of course, the cost. The removal can be even more painful than actually getting the tattoo in the first place. Do you regret any of your tattoos? My tastes have certainly changed over the past few decades – a lot!

Tattoos don’t just disappear, you know – go to a qualified doctor or experienced specialist

Do you realise how long it takes to remove a tattoo – about two and a half years on average – and laser treatments should be scheduled about three months apart to give yourself time to heal between sessions.

Numbing cream helps, but the laser treatment can be pretty painful. A chiller helps too

The cost – and degree of pain – of tattoo removal varies on the doctor doing it, as well as the size, colour, and age of the tattoo, but all inks and shades will eventually disappear, even yellows and greens.

Slather on zinc oxide sunscreen to prevent exposure to the sun. And be prepared for the sites to blister. Aftercare? You’ll need bandages and antibiotic cream or a healing moisturizer too for the first few days. And you can count on at least a week’s discomfort.

How to Remove Tattoos – Solutions

Semi-removal? Some people compromise, and lighten the tattoos and then cover them with a new one. But if all the ink is removed then there may be scarring. Tattoo removal cream doesn’t usually work – the only solutions are dermabrasion, surgery or laser treatments.

Smaller tattoos can be removed surgically quite easily. But don’t try to remove one yourself.

In the US about one in ten people – many of them teenagers – have at least one tattoo, and half of them want to remove or change them. With many teens getting tattoos they later regret, tattoo removal is an increasing issue in Australia.

If you want good advice, come and see Lyn at Clynic – Cosmetic Tattoo Artistry. She and her team will be endlessly sympathetic and helpful, and try to find the least costly and least painful solution for you.

Clynic has a great reputation for nurturing and being professional, reliable, and competent. It has an excellent record in customer satisfaction. Clients’ health and safety are Clynic’s first priority in all of our treatments.

Cosmetic Tattoos: Everything You Have Always Wanted to Know, but Never Dared to Ask https://staging.clynic.com.au/cosmetic-tattoos-sunshine-coast-2021/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/cosmetic-tattoos-sunshine-coast-2021/#respond Sun, 18 Jul 2021 20:26:09 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2860 Guide to Cosmetic Tattoos 2021: What You Need to Know

These are the answers to some of the questions that we are asked most often:

Cosmetic tattoos are not as deep as body tattoos, and are designed for the face, which is more delicate. There is some pain involved, a but topical or block anaesthetic may be used.

Yes, cosmetic tattoos are safe, and all our equipment is either sterile or sterilised.

Colours change, and although we always try to match any shade you may choose, they should not be judged in the first six weeks. Colour bleeding is rare, but the black pigment used for eyeliner may well become a dark blue. If you already suffer from herpes, lip tattooing may cause cold sores.

If you are pregnant or on medication, you should let us know, as we often prefer not to treat people suffering from diabetes, who are on blood thinners or who drink alcohol excessively.

A tattoo tends to take between four and fourteen days to heal.

To decide on the colour of a tattoo, we take your hair, eyebrow, eye and complexion colours into consideration, and suggest that you bring your usual makeup with you for us to look at.

To decide on the shape of an eyebrow, we ask you to draw your usual shape on one eyebrow, and then we will draw our suggested shape on the other. Feathering is a technique for eyebrows that mimics fine hair strokes.

A lip, eyebrow or eye liner tattoo should heal completely within six weeks. If you get all your tattoos done on the same day, then they will all heal together – and don’t forget you cannot use any cleanser, moisturizer or makeup for four days afterwards.

Remember, a brand new tattoo will always look much brighter, darker and deeper. And a cosmetic tattoo is not temporary, although we certainly do recommend a touch up every two to three years.

When cosmetic tattooing or micro blading is beautifully and professionally done, the result is very natural and our clients leave happy.

The Pros and Cons of Permanent Makeup https://staging.clynic.com.au/permanent-makeup-sunshine-coast/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/permanent-makeup-sunshine-coast/#respond Wed, 07 Jul 2021 08:11:22 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2870 Permanent Makeup Sunshine Coast: Eyes, Eyebrows & Lips

Have you ever considered permanent makeup – or cosmetic tattoos or micropigmentation as it is also called? The tattoo artist will use a pen which contains iron oxide to tattoo eyeliner or lipstick or eyebrows and create the look of makeup. Permanent makeup can even camouflage scars, and fill in an uneven hairline too.

Remember though that although permanent makeup will certainly fade with time, and need touching up occasionally, it is very difficult to remove entirely. So that does make it a real commitment.

Anyone can have permanent makeup just because they want to, but it is especially useful for someone with poor eyesight or shaky hands – or who is very impatient about getting up and getting ready, and anyone playing sport. That means anyone suffering from cataracts or arthritis or even multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s – and anyone who has had a stroke – may find it a godsend to avoid putting on makeup while still managing to look their best.

And don’t forget that areas on the eyes, eyebrows and lips do change with age. Fashions change too.

Have a proper consultation before making any final decision – find out whether you will need anaesthesia, and look at the tattoo artist’s credentials. Check their experience and, of course, how clean and hygienic their office is. Do they use medical-grade sterilisation and high quality ink? How long have they been in this profession? Where did they train and where have they worked? Do they give natural results, and what is their follow-up care policy? What is your skin type, and what do they advise? Most importantly, is this what you want and do you feel confident?

Permanent Makeup with Cosmetic Tattooing in the Sunshine Coast

There is always a risk of infection when needles are involved: the body may react, and some people are allergic to certain tattoo inks. Short-term side effects of permanent makeup may include swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising.

But permanent makeup does save time and boost confidence: “Makeup is not a mask that covers up your beauty; it’s a weapon that helps you express who you are from the inside,” Lyn O’Connor of Clynic – Cosmetic Tattoo Artistry always says.

Call Lyn at Clynic if you are on the Sunshine Coast. She really is both a cosmetic tattoo specialist and an artist who achieves the best possible results. Try a tattoo today. Permanent makeup may prove to be a real blessing for you.

Considerations When Choosing a Cosmetic Tattoo Artist https://staging.clynic.com.au/cosmetic-tattoo-artist-sunshine-coast/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/cosmetic-tattoo-artist-sunshine-coast/#respond Thu, 17 Jun 2021 03:44:16 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2863 Cosmetic Tattoo Artist Sunshine Coast

This is where word of mouth really counts. Seriously, it does. Whom do your friends and acquaintances on the Sunshine Coast go to for a facial – and for more than that too? And how do they actually look afterwards? Really better? Much better? Younger? Are they happy? Are they overjoyed? Are they more confident? And do you think they look good? After all, there can hardly be a better recommendation than that.

First things first, of course

Make sure you meet your prospective tattoo artist and that you have time to talk to and relax with them – it is really important to relate to them and build up a strong rapport. After all, it’s your face, and you have to trust them absolutely. Their premises have to be impeccably clean, hygienic and sterile too. Treatments carried out incorrectly can do more harm than good. And you certainly can’t afford to risk that.

Welcome to Clynic – Cosmetic Tattoo Artist in Sunshine Coast

Lyn O’Connor has owned and operated Clynic ever since 2007, and she and her skilled expert colleagues provide highly specialised beautifying treatments using state-of-the-art equipment. Clynic’s reputation is for being nurturing and professional, reliable and competent – and for putting clients’ health and safety first, always. Lyn says that eyebrows lift and frame the face, and she can enhance colour and shape, thickness, definition and symmetry, correcting what nature may have overlooked, whereas  eyeliner can lift and open the eyes, making them look clearer and brighter, creating a thicker lash look, and adding definition. To lips Lyn adds fullness, balance and symmetry, creating that fuller lip look. And then, of course, why not a beauty spot? Call Clynic and make an appointment today – enjoy yourself.

All You Need To Know About The Keratin Lash Lift https://staging.clynic.com.au/keratin-lash-lift-sunshine-coast/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/keratin-lash-lift-sunshine-coast/#respond Wed, 31 Mar 2021 11:08:52 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2739 Lash Lift Sunshine Coast

Fed up of forever fiddling with false eyelashes or spending time having lash extensions? Then why not try a keratin lash lift and save yourself a lot of time and trouble. Your lashes will come out looking their very best, and you will not need to think about them again for between six and eight weeks.

Restore the natural structure of your eyelashes, moisturise them and increase their volume

The keratin lash lift we offer is more gentle than standard lash lifts. Instead of breaking the hair bonds, the keratin allows the hair to be ‘bent’ without breaking the bond, which ensures the integrity of the hair. And we do recommend a 20 minute Botox protein treatment at the end of a lash lift to fill any holes in the hair and strengthen it from the inside out.

Achieve that irresistible look you have always wanted when you flutter your long, thick eyelashes

With a keratin-infused lash lift, attention will be drawn to your eyes – the mirrors of your soul – and you will be able to further enhance them with mascara and eye make-up after just 24 hours.

We know that you will want to come back for more once you’ve put yourself in the hands of the experts at Clynic.

We can work together to give you the most glorious eyelashes, because our team is here to advise you and to help you decide. We would like to tell you about all our other services too, such as eyebrow tattoos and permanent eye liner to make your eyes even more dramatic without any hard work in front of the mirror.

Give yourself a real treat – sit back, relax, and enjoy a day of pure indulgence and a dramatically voluminous look!

Clynic is well-established on the Sunshine Coast, with a reputation for being nurturing and professional, reliable and competent, and a loyal clientele who trust us with all their beauty needs, from cosmetic tattoos to male and female waxings.

Give us a ring to make an appointment, and you may be assured that you will be in the care of make-up artists of the highest order

Clynic knows that every single face has its own interesting and unique features which make up its individual style, and we would like to find the best solutions for yours. Contact us today!

The Best Anti-Aging Facial Treatments https://staging.clynic.com.au/the-best-anti-aging-facial-treatments/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/the-best-anti-aging-facial-treatments/#respond Wed, 10 Mar 2021 10:46:11 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2745 Facials Sunshine Coast

Botox: These injections, which last up to four months, remain a popular tried and tested treatment to relax the facial muscles, smoothing out lines and wrinkles.

Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing: A laser delivers microbeams into the lower layers of skin, creating layers of tissue coagulation which reduce the appearance of fine lines and minimise scars.

Dermabrasion and Microdermabrasion: Exfoliating techniques using a rotating instrument to remove the other layers of skin are used to treat fine lines, uneven textures, and scars. Healing can take up to 10 days. Microdermabrasion is a less aggressive treatment than dermabrasion.

Nonablative Skin Rejuvenation: A laser is used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots and minor scars by creating heat in the skin surface, which promotes collagen production, causing the skin to tighten and look younger.

Chemical Peels: Used to treat wrinkles, age spots, superficial scarring and discolouration, an acid solution is applied to the skin, dissolving skin cells and removing the top layer of the epidermis.

Microneedling: As the name implies, an instrument containing multiple thin, sharp needles is applied to the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

While the above treatments are idolised and desired, they can be quite invasive to the skin. That is why at Clynic we recommend using Intraceuticals products and our O2 facials before heading down that intrusive pathway. With a double cleanse and deep exfoliation, infusing serums deep into the skin using hyperbaric oxygen and taking home your ideal skincare products, you will be on your way to tighter, brighter, and plumper skin. Our favourite serums are:

Rejuvenate, which instantly hydrates, lifts and tightens by improving skin hydration and volume, leaving the skin looking radiantly younger

Opulence, which is ideal for dull, uneven skin tone, dark spots, melanoma, sun damage and premature ageing

Antioxidant serum, which reveals a younger looking more even complexion

Atoxelene serum, which instantly revives, refines, softens and smooths as well as plumping, and is a natural alternative to more extreme procedures.

Welcome to Clynic on the Sunshine Coast and our extensive experience in delivering highly specialised treatments using state of the art equipment. We are delighted to be able to provide clients with a wide range of specialist and advanced treatments. And Lyn, Sarah, Zola and Kahyla all have a deep understanding of skin colour and skin theory to achieve the best possible results.

Everything Lyn O’Connor and her team do at Clynic is done with care for you, to enhance your natural beauty.

Book your appointment today for whatever would make you feel good, from cosmetic tattoos to male or female waxing and from oxygenation facials to eye treatments.

Annual colour boost/refresh of cosmetic tattooing – the myth and the reality https://staging.clynic.com.au/colour-boost-cosmetic-tattoo-refresh-sunshine-coast/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/colour-boost-cosmetic-tattoo-refresh-sunshine-coast/#respond Sun, 27 Dec 2020 21:39:53 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2674 Cosmetic Tattoo Refresh in Sunshine Coast

Here at Clynic, we are specialists in cosmetic tattoo refresh, colour boost and touch up for your lip, eyebrow & eyeliner tattoo! Visit our tattoo studio in Sunshine Coast!

While cosmetic tattooing may well last between one and even five years, the norm is usually three years.

However, this will be affected by a number of factors, such as:

– The quality and brands of the pigment that is used
– The professional abilities of the cosmetic tattoo specialist who carries out the procedure
– The skin type of the client
– Exposure to the sun — this will make the pigment fade a lot more quickly
– Medication, if any, taken by the client. This should be made known to the cosmetic tattoo specialist at the initial consultation
– The client’s metabolism — take into account everyone heals differently
– Beauty treatments and certain creams such as glycolic acids and peels may well affect the tattoo
– Aftercare really matters, so follow your cosmetic tattoo specialist’s advice to the letter
– Colour does make a difference too. Darker colours such as black eyeliner usually last longer

Nurturing and professional, reliable and competent

You should certainly check your cosmetic tattoos after 12 months to see if a colour boost/ touch-up is necessary and proceed accordingly. Nothing lasts forever, but a follow-up with your tattooing specialist after 12 to 24 months will allow you to take any remedial action that may be needed.

Clients’ health and safety are our priority in all treatments

Naturally, you are the best judge of what is required and a lot depends on how you feel about your appearance and whether or not you would like a touch-up. It is your appearance and whatever pleases you and makes you feel confident and satisfied that matter. A cosmetic tattoo artist like Lyn at Clynic will always listen to any concerns you may have and will give you her professional advice. Trust in your cosmetic tattoo specialist is vital, and will allow you to make decisions necessary to maintain your fresh and rejuvenated appearance and to look yourself only better, 24/7.

After 20+ years of experience, Lyn’s background in advanced makeup artistry, colour theory, and facial morphology helps her achieve the best possible results

Taking care of your new cosmetic tattooing https://staging.clynic.com.au/how-to-take-care-of-a-cosmetic-tattoo-guide/ https://staging.clynic.com.au/how-to-take-care-of-a-cosmetic-tattoo-guide/#respond Thu, 10 Dec 2020 10:43:42 +0000 https://clynic.com.au/?p=2681 How to Take Care of a Cosmetic Tattoo

Congrats on your new cosmetic tattoo! But can you maintain it? Here’s a step by step guide on how to take care of a cosmetic tattoo and make it last for years!

First of all, of course you should check with your cosmetic tattoo specialist while the procedure is being done for careful, detailed guidance on how best to take care of your new tattoo. But there are also some general rules it would be wise to follow:

1. Clean ice packs well protected with a cloth may be used to prevent swelling everywhere except on the lips

2. Sleep with your head slightly elevated

3. Maintain hygienic sanitary practices at all times, and of course wash your hands thoroughly before touching the affected area

4. Always wear glasses outdoors to protect new eyeliner from any dust

5. Never, under any circumstances, pick, peel or scratch the tattooed area

6. Do not apply any make-up to the tattooed area for at least three full days

7. If you undergo an eyeliner procedure, please use a new mascara for at least the first 10 days following the three days of no make-up. An eyelash curler should not be used for at least two weeks after the procedure

8. Do not expose your healing skin to a direct shower spray, skin cream or any ointment other than what the cosmetic tattoo specialist has prescribed for at least three days after the procedure

9. Do not expose your healing skin to any direct sunlight, and avoid chlorine, saunas and extremely hot weather for at least two weeks following the procedure

10. Use a top quality sunscreen or sunblock spray, gel or lotion every day, including on your lips.

Everything here is sterilised after each client and at the end of every day, including the reception area, bathrooms and door handles

After following the above advice, and also having met with your cosmetic tattoo specialist for a further examination, you will be free to enjoy the full benefits of your new look until you think you need a touch-up or two, but this will normally be at least one or two years after the procedure, if not longer.

We are here for all of our clients during this strange time

All that remains is for you to make an appointment with Lyn or one of her team at Clynic and put yourself in their hands for that bright new spring look you are looking forward to. We are always remembering – your safety comes first!
